Jun 3, 2015 · Community member. Property in Valencia is much less expensive then Barcelona. The city is smaller and more cosy. If you got to an internations event in Valencia, there will be 80 people, as opposed to Barcelona. It all depends whether you are a big city person, or not. The hills around Valencia are almost mountains.

Seville's old city is really beautiful, but it's small, and you can basically see everything of interest in 3 days. Barcelona has a lot more to see and do. If it's a 2-3 day trip, I would probably go to Seville, but if it's more like a week, I would go to Barcelona. If the trip is more than just Seville, like including Cordoba and Granada, IYou can probably see the best of each city within a couple of days, maybe even a day. Valencia is nicely connected with the AVE to Madrid, so you could take the train from Barcelona down the coast and then head on to Madrid on the AVE. Malaga is only two hours from Seville on the AVE, and around 1 hr 45 by bus to Granada.
Of course, check first on TA Valencia if the sights are all open during the Christmas/New Year season. Here's a possible itinerary: Night before: - Barcelona - Valencia, 8:30 - 11:30 pm. - Check into hotel near train station (see Note 1 below) - Check out Valencia night life! Day 1: Valencia Cathedral. Silk Exchange.
